Birth Statistics. Vital statistics. Methodology
- Type of operation: continuous on an annual basis.
- Population scope: all mothers who give birth in Spain.
- Geographical scope: the entire national territory.
- Reference period: the calendar year.
- Collection method: through the Statistical Birth Bulletin which is completed by those who are required by law; the registration data are filled in by the person in charge of the civil registry. The civil registry sends the INE the bulletins on a monthly basis.
