Description and objectives
The CNO-94 lies within the ISCO-88.COM conceptual framework and therefore also the SICO-88 framework. The classification criteria used are the type of work carried out and the qualification. Qualification is understood as the capacity to carry out the tasks inherent to a determined job, for which two viewpoints are taken into account: the level and the specialisation of the said qualification.
The CNO 94 is more broken down than the ISCO 88. COM. It introduces an intermediate level between the first and second levels, which softens the structure and which should be understood as an alternative to the Large Groups.
These objective of this classification is to guarantee the standardised treatment of the statistical data on occupations in the country and their international and Community comparability.
