Summary methodology

Guests Staying at CampsSites (MVAC) survey provides information about supply and demand of accommodation services in camps sites.

Sample size is about 1,100 establishments selected from the INE Directory.

The population surveyed covers all the camps sites, classified by first, second and third category.

The basic data considered refer to seven consecutive days of the months, randomly selected, in such a manner as all the establishments together account for the whole month.

These establishments supply this information on a monthly basis to the National Statistical Institute, by means of a questionnaire.

Several indicators on the stays of guests are obtained for the country as a whole and by autonomous communities.

The main indicators obtained are: number of guests and nights by camp site category and country of residence of the guests, and occupancy.

Information is also elaborated on the number of staff employed.

Results refer to the country as a whole and by autonomous communities.
