	Objective: to provide information on the economic and human resources destined to research by all the economic sectors of the country, in order to ascertain the national research drive. Variables examined: expenditure and staff dedicated to R&D by sector type: Companies, Public Authorities, Not-for-profit Private Institutions and Higher Education. Innovation in Companies Survey
	Objective: to provide information on the structure of the innovation process and show the relationships between the aforementioned process and companies' technological strategy, the factors influencing their capability to innovate and the economic performance of companies. Variables examined: expenditure destined to innovative activities by branch of activity and size of company, outcome of the innovation and economic impact. Conducted since: 1994.
