Objective: to obtain an estimate of the population resident
in Spain, its Autonomous Communities and provinces, at each moment, and
of its migratory flows, making use of the latest available information
on demographic evolution of the country and each of its territories.
Variables studied: population, births, deaths and migrations
by basic demographic feature and reference date.
Conducted since: 2004. Available since 2002. Detailed
results for migratory flows available since 2010.
Objective: to provide information on annual migration,
both internal, between the different municipalities in Spain, and external,
between municipalities in Spain and foreign countries.
Variables studied: migration by sex, age groups, place
of birth, nationality, size of destination municipality and municipality
of origin and place of origin and destination of the movement. Foreign
migrations are also classified by destination country or country of origin.

Objective: to provide information on the social and
demographic characteristics of persons born abroad and in relation to
the establishment and significance of the composition of the family group
in migratory decisions and strategies.
Variables studied: social and demographic variables on
persons born abroad, composition and characteristics of the home and dwelling;
conditions in the country of origin, migratory experience and means used
in order to travel to Spain, residential and employment variations in
Spain.
Objective: to provide information regarding foreign
nationals a valid registration certificate or residence card, with valid
student stay authorisation, granting of Spanish citizenship due to residency,
visas and foreign population requesting asylum and with refugee status.
Variables collected: country of origin, Autonomous Community
of destination, sex, nationality.
