Hypothesis on the evolution of demographic phenomena according to the different situations considered
The first situation considered is that the number of new arrivals of foreigners in Spain will evolve according to the most recent trend until the year 2010, after which they remain constant. The total number of arrivals in Spain during the period 2007-2059 increases to 14.6 million persons.
A second situation, which implies in the short term a greater reduction in the number of net arrivals, has been established in accordance with Eurostat. The number of net arrivals from abroad is the same as for Situation 1 for the period 2002-2006 and, after this last year, the decreasing tendency in the number of foreigners arriving until the year 2010 situates the number at around 100,000 annually for the 2007-2059 period, hence the total number of arrivals during said period is of 5.8 million persons.
