Goodbye from the Spanish Presidency in Statistics
Spain held the Presidency of the EU Council for the first half of 2010 and during this period, the National Statistics Institute of Spain chaired the Council Statistics Working Party where the following dossiers were discussed:
Quality of statistical data in the context of the excessive deficit procedure.
Statistical returns in respect of carriage of goods and passengers by sea.
Tourism statistics.
European Environmental Accounts.
The Spanish Presidency would like to show our gratitude to all those partners who have made possible a satisfactory development of the Presidency of the EU Council in the field of official statistics. In particular, we want to thank the cooperation provided by the Commission, the Council General Secretariat, the Legal Services of the Council, the European Parliament's rapporteurs and the Member States, both during the informal consultations and the fruitful discussions developed in the Working Party. All of them have contributed active and constructively to the advancement of statistical dossiers.
Finally, we wish our colleagues a successful Presidencies to our Belgian and Hungarian colleagues for the next months.
