The Rural Tourism Accommodation Occupancy Survey covers information referring to all rural tourism accommodation according to what is defined in the different legal regulations of each Autonomous Community.

In general rural lodgings, those establishments or dwellings destined for tourist lodging are considered by means of price, with or without other complementary services and which are registered in the corresponding Tourist Lodging Register of each Autonomous Community.

Methodology

Technical file

Type of survey: continuous and monthly
Survey's scope: all rural tourism establishments registered as such in the corresponding register in each Autonomous Community
Reference period: the month
Information reference period: seven consecutive days from each month, chosen at random in such a a way that the whole month is covered between all establishments
Sample size: the survey is exhaustive in all provinces, except in those where the size of the population is sufficiently large for a sample to be taken
Collection method: questionnaire filled in directly by the establishment
