Magistrates' Court Statistics are the only ones which contain information referring to the legal activity of Magistrates' Courts in the civil and penal fields.

This statistical operation is undertaken in collaboration with the General Council of the Spanish Judiciary by virtue of the Agreement signed by the National Statistics Institute and this body on 14 February 1995.

Since the reference year 2007 it is been made possible for the aforementioned courts to complete questionnaires by means of an electronic questionnaire as an alternative to the paper one.

Results are made available on a national, Autonomous Community and provincial level.
