 Lector de texto The most relevant objective of the Economic Accounts Systems is to offer a quantified representation of an economic reality, referring to the most current, systematic, complete and reliable determined spatial and temporal fields possible.

Changes in accounting base are introduced into the SNA periodically, intending, on the one hand, to update the statistical sources and procedures used in measuring economic activity, and on the other hand, to apply the modifications registered in the reference accounting methodologies for the national and regional accounts.

The national accounts system for the Spanish economy uses the methodology contained in the European System of National and Regional Accounts (ESA 2010), which all European Union (EU) Member States apply in a standardized and compulsory manner, in compliance with that set forth in European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) No. 549/2013, of 21 May.
