Foto Lector de texto The Services Sector Price Indices (SSPI) are short-term indicators that measure the quarterly evolution of prices, from the supply perspective, of services rendered to companies (business sector) by companies that operate in the sectors included in Regulation (EC) nº 1158/2005 of the European Parliament and Council, of 6 July 2005 regarding short-term statistics. In order to obtain them, a quarterly, ongoing survey is conducted. This studies, each quarter, services companies that render services to other companies (around 800).

As of the first quarter of 2013, the SSPI methodology has been completely overhauled. The methodological changes introduced in the SSPI, base 2010, have been converted into more dynamic indicators, which are better suited to changes in the services sector, since weightings will be updated annually, and new products and/or companies may be included in the basket when their activity starts to take on significance.
