Notes:
1) Incident rate: Child protection measures for each 100,000 inhabitants under the age of 18. The calculation of child protection measure incident rates with regards under 18s is done in relation to the population projections on 1st July each year. For 1998, 1999 and 2000, the figures published by the INE in 2001 and calculated from the 1991 Census have been taken. For 2001, 2002 and 2003, the figures provided by the INE in April 2005 are based on the 2001 Census.

2) The national adoption figures reflect figures put together using previous proposals from the proper public entities.

3) No information for Vicaya in 2002, Ceuta in 1998 and Melilla in 1998, 1999 and 2003.
