Em média, foi mais elevado em Portugal, que, considerando as duas décadas, registou 1,36 filhos por mulher, contra 1,31 em Espanha. Registe-se também que a Espanha apresentou no último ano da série o seu valor mais baixo: 1,16 filhos por mulher. INDICADOR COYUNTURAL DE FECUNDIDAD (HIJOS POR MUJER) El indicador coyuntural de fecundidad (número medio de hijos por mujer) siguió trayectorias diferentes en los dos países de 2003 a 2022, a veces más alta en Portugal (2003-2006, 2010-2011 y 2016- -2022) y a veces más alta en España (2007-2009 y 2012-2015). De media, fue superior en Portugal, que tuvo 1,36 hijos por mujer en las dos décadas, frente a 1,31 en España. También hay que señalar que España tuvo su cifra más baja en el último año de la serie: 1,16 hijos por mujer. NUMBER OF CHILDREN PER WOMAN The synthetic fertility rate (number of children per woman) evolved in different directions in the two countries in the period 2003-2022, sometimes higher in Portugal (2003-2006, 2010-2011 and 2016- -2022) and sometimes higher in Spain (2007-2009 and 2012-2015). On average, it was higher in Portugal, which, considering the two decades, recorded 1.36 children per woman, against 1.31 in Spain.
