Leave studies, start to work

Almost two-and-a-half years elapse from the end of the study period to the moment when a person finds her/his first significant job

The INE uses the household sample of the Economically Active Population Survey to delve into certain aspects of the labour market. In the second quarter of the year 2000, it studied the transition from education or initial training to employment. The target group of analysis was that of persons aged 16 to 35 years old who, in the last 10 years, had completed, interrupted or abandoned their studies, and the main explicative variables were the educational level of the persons who completed or abandoned their studies, their age, sex and Autonomous Community of residence.
