Promoted by a large number of initiatives from both the scientific and the academic world, as well as from European and international organisations (United Nations, OECD, European Commission, Eurostat). Measuring the progress of society and well-being of individuals implies increasing the number of economic development indicators traditionally used for measuring growth and well-being (GDP, other aggregate indicators from National Accounts).

This release presents the multidimensional measurement of the quality of life, including a set of indicators grouped in 9 dimensions and disaggregated by individual characteristics (sex, age, type of household, type of income, level of education, nationality, level of urbanisation) and geographical scope (Autonomous Communities, EU).
