Concept selected: Late foetal death
Definition
This is death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of viable conception. This viability is precisely what serves to differentiate between late foetal deaths and abortions. Currently, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has identified the viability of the foetus with those born dead that weigh at least 500 grammes, and should this data not be available, with a gestational age of at least 22 weeks.Source
