Concept selected: Subcontracting

According to the National Classification of Economic Activities CNAE-2009, the term subcontracting refers to the contractual agreement according to which the main one requests that the contractor carry out certain specific tasks, such as parts of the production process or even the complete production process, services related to human resources or certain support services.
Contractors, in other words, units that carry out an activity on behalf on third parties are generally classified with units producing the same goods and services independently, except in trade and in construction. The term subcontractor is also used.
In the manufacturing industry, the main one provides the contractor with the technical specifications for manufacturing activity to be carried out on material input. The material input (raw materials or intermediate products) may or may not be provided by (in other words, property of) the main one.
