Mortality Tables In 1945, the INE published mortality tables of the Spanish population, by sex, calculated with the deaths by age for the years 1930 and 1931 and the populations of the 1930 Census. Six years later, when the results of the 1940 Census were already available, tables were prepared for that year, but, in addition, the figures of the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Censuses were used as the denominator of the deaths by sex and age of the Vital Statistics of the corresponding years, to establish the biometric functions that were published together with those of 1930 and 1940, thus making the series available for the period 1900-1940. With the data from the 1950 Census, the INE prepared the mortality tables for that year, completing the information provided with the abbreviated tables referring to the same year and disseminated two years earlier. Likewise, the populations obtained in the 1960 and 1970 censuses made it possible to calculate new mortality tables
