Cities: Terrassa

Description

The new definition of the city is based on the presence of an "urban center", a new spatial concept based on grid cells of high density population. In 2011, the Directorate General for Regional Policy and Eurostat redefined, in coordination with the OECD, the "urban centers" that would be included in the Urban Audit project using a standard procedure based on the number of inhabitants and population densities. Consequently, all LAU 2 (municipalities for Spain) with more than 50,000 inhabitants and a population density greater than 1,500 inhabitants per square kilometer are classified as "urban centers". Further information.
