8 March. International Women's Day

In 1977, the United Nations Organisation declared 8 March to be International Women's Day. This year, the National Statistics Institute (INE) is joining this celebration with the publishing of an INE Figures dedicated to Gender Statistics. With this publication, the INE hopes to show that, even though the equality of rights between men and women is recognised by all of the Member States of the European Union, in practice, real equality is still an unattained ambition.
