Notice to users

From the first quarter of 2026, the tables containing information on establishment activity in the EPA (main employment activity, secondary employment activity and last employment activity) will be coded according to the National Classification of Economic Activities CNAE 2025.

Furthermore, during the four quarters of 2026, dual coding will be facilitated, so data will be available not only from the new CNAE 2025 but also from the CNAE 2009. The latter will appear in the subsection "Results with classifications or methodologies not in force", included in the section "Quarterly/Series from the first quarter of 2002".

The Economically Active Population Survey (EAPS) has been conducted since 1964. The current methodology has been used since 2021.

This is a continuous, quarterly survey targeting family dwellings, intended to collect data on the labour force and its various categories (employed, unemployed) as well as on the population outside the labour market (inactive).

In the second quarter of 2026, the sample for all of Spain is approximately 47,500 dwellings per quarter, which is equivalent to 114,000 people.
