Foreigners in Spain
The foreign nationals resident in our country have multiplied by four in the five-year period from 1998 to 2003
According to the latest data available from the Municipal Register, at 1 January 2003, the number of foreign nationals registered in Spain accounts for 6.2% of the total population resident in Spain, which indicates that this population has increased four-fold since 1998. This substantial increase experienced has turned them into a subject of maximum interest from the economic, social, and consequently statistical, perspectives.
