Quality in the INE
Over the last few decades, the INE has made many efforts in terms of management and quality control of its products, with the purpose of maintaining the high degree of confidence official statistical information enjoys.
Through this section of the webpage, the INE informs users about quality practices and how it tries to adapt itself constantly to new challenges and needs that society demands.
The INE Quality strategy is based on:
1) Quality guidelines integrated into the mission and vision of the INE.
2) The definition of a system of quality management of the INE, formed by a body of rules and instruments, and an organizational structure which monitors and coordinates its application.
European Statistics Code of Practice (CP)
In February 2005 the Statistical Programme Committee (SPC) (predecessor of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC)) adopted the European Statistics Code of Practice (CP) and committed itself to adhering to the fifteen principles established in said Code, as well as to periodically reviewing its application using the corresponding Indicators of good practice. This Code has been adopted by the INE as its own (Art 8). Thus, the INE commits itself to observe it when establishing the general principles that regulate the statistical production for central government purposes.
