Non-hotel Tourist Accommodation Occupancy. September 2023

Overnight stays in non-hotel tourist accommodations increase 3.5% compared to the same month of 2022. Cumulative overnight stays since January grew by 3.7% and are 3.9% higher than those of the same period of 2019.

The Rural Tourism Accommodation Occupancy Survey provides information on the supply and demand for this type of accommodation, registered as such in each Autonomous Community¿s corresponding Tourism Department. From the point view of demand, information is provided on travellers, overnight and average stays, distributed by country of residence of travellers or by Autonomous Community of origin in the case of Spanish travellers; from the supply point of view information on estimated number of establishments open, estimated vacancies, occupancy rates as well as information on employment in the sector is provided. This information is provided monthly, at the following levels: national, Autonomous Community, provincial, tourist area and tourist spot.

The Rural Tourism Accommodation Price Index measures the monthly evolution of the prices that establishments apply to their clients. It provides information at the national level broken down by type of rates and by rent modality.
