Overnight stays in hotel establishments increased by 0.3% in July compared with the same month in 2025, and exceeded 44.8 million.
Those of travellers resident in Spain decreased by 1.1%, while those of non-residents increased by 1.1%.

During the first seven months of 2026, overnight stays increased by 1.5% compared with the same period in the previous year. Those of travellers resident in Spain increased by 0.8% and those of non-residents by 1.8%.
Andalusia, Catalonia and Comunitat Valenciana were the main destinations for travellers resident in Spain in July, with 24.7%, 14.2% and 13.4% of the total number of overnight stays, respectively.
The main destinations for non-residents were Illes Balears, Cataluña, and Canarias, with 33.4%, 20.2% and 18.6% of the total, respectively.
By tourist areas, Isla de Mallorca recorded the highest number of overnight stays, with more than 8.0 million. On the other hand, the tourist destinations with the most overnight stays were Barcelona, Madrid and Calvià.
Travellers from the United Kingdom and Germany accounted for 25.8% and 14.5%, respectively, of total non-resident overnight stays in July.
Overnight stays by travellers from France, the Netherlands and the United States (the following source markets) accounted for 7.9%, 5.1% and 4.2% of the total, respectively.
In July, 71.1% of the places offered were filled, 0.9% more than in July 2025.
The weekend occupancy rate by bed-places fell by 0.8% to 74.4%.
Illes Balears recorded the highest occupancy rate by bed-places in July (87.4%).
The tourist destination with the highest level of occupancy by places and at weekends, was the Palma-Calvià, with 89.8% and 87.3%, respectively.
The tourist destination with the highest level of occupancy by places and at weekends was Llucmajor, with 95.9% and 97.9%, respectively.
The Hotel Price Index rose by 5.9% in July compared with the same month in 2025.

By communities and autonomous cities, the greatest increase was registered in Comunitat Valenciana (9.8%) and the sharpest decrease was in Castilla y León (-0.4%).
By categories, the largest price increase was recorded in three and two-silver star establishments (8.8%).
The average hotel turnover per occupied room (ADR) was 156.9 euros in July, an increase of 6.8% compared with the same month in 2025.
The average daily revenue per available room (RevPAR), which is determined by the occupancy of these establishments, reached 119.3 euros, an increase of 6.6%.
By category, the ADR was 339.0 euros for five-star hotels, 164.8 euros for four-star hotels and 132.6 euros for three-star hotels. RevPAR for these same categories was 249.1, 136.0 and 103.5 euros, respectively.
The tourist spot with the highest ADR and RevPAR was Marbella, with 416.2 and 339.4 euros, respectively.

The objective of the Hotels Occupancy Survey (EOH) is to ascertain a series of variables that make it possible to describe the fundamental characteristics of the hotel sector, both from the point of view of supply and demand.
The Hotel Price Index (IPH) is a statistical measure of the monthly evolution of prices applied to clients that hotel entrepreneurs apply to their customers.
The objective of the Indicators of Profitability of the Hotel Sector (IRSH) is to facilitate decision-making in the hotel sector. These are the Average Daily Rate (ADR), which collects the average daily income per occupied room, and the Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR), which collects the average daily revenue per available room.
