Main results

In June, 206,138 properties were registered in the property registers, 7.0% more than in the same month of the previous year.
The number of registered property sales and purchases increased by 1.6% compared with June 2025.

Detailed results

The number of property transfers recorded in the property registers (from previously executed public deeds) in June was 206,138, which was 7.0% more than in the same month in 2025.

Regarding registered property sales, the number of transfers stood at 115,925, with an annual increase of 4.2%.

Sales recorded in land registers

87.4% of registered sales in June were urban properties and 12.6% were rural properties. In the case of urban properties, 58.5% were home purchases and sales.

In June, the number of sales of rural properties increased by 7.1% in terms of the annual rate and that of urban properties by 3.8%. Within the latter, home sales recorded annual growth of 1.6%.

Registered housing sales

In June, 93.8% of the homes transferred by sale and purchase were free and 6.2% were protected.

In annual terms, the number of transfers of free dwellings rose by 2.6% in June in the annual rate, while that of protected dwellings decreased by 11.8%.

21.5% of the home sales in June were new and 78.5% were used.

The number of new home transactions increased by 6.3% compared with June 2025 and the number of second-hand homes by 0.3%.

Results by Autonomous Community

La Rioja (19.5%), Canarias (12.2%) and Principado de Asturias (10.8%) recorded the highest annual rates of change in the total number of properties transferred in June.

For their part, the Comunidad Foral de Navarra (-8.3%) and Cantabria (-6.4%) were the only autonomous communities that presented negative rates.

Looking at the sales and purchases of registered housing, the autonomous communities that presented the greatest increases were Comunidad Foral de Navarra (22.6%), Castilla – La Mancha (22.2%) and Principado de Asturias (10.4%).

On the other hand, Cantabria (-21.5%), Illes Balears (-11.7%) and Galicia (-7.7%) recorded the largest decreases.

The data for 2026 are provisional and will be reviewed when the data for the same period next year are published. All the results of this operation are available at INEbase.

Methodological note

The Statistics on Transfer of Property Rights provide information on the number of rights on transfers of property during the reference month, on a national level, by province and Autonomous Community.

All information on transfers of property is taken from the information contained in the Land Registers for the whole country, by virtue of a partnership agreement signed in 2004 by both institutions.

Type of survey:: continuous on a monthly basis.
Population scope:: registrations of transfers of property rights in the land registers.
Geographical scope:: the entire national territory, by Autonomous Community and provinces.
Reference period of the results:: the calendar month.
Reference period of the information:: the calendar month.
Classification:: sale, donation, inheritance, exchange and other property titles, of rustic and urban properties (dwellings, plots and other urban properties).
Collection method:: administrative registers from Association of property and Mercantile registers of Spain.
