- Obtaining the listing of population units at 1 January 2011, using the information sent by the municipal councils.
Obtaining the populations for the population units at 1 January 2011, using the register files, after the publication of the Royal Decree endorsing official population figures.
Dissemination of the "Listing of population units with a specification of their population", one month after the previous phase. Each month, Municipal Councils from all Spanish Municipalities send the variations occurring in the population units the previous month.
