Abbreviations and observations on its use

Summary

The MSB is a syntehis publication that covers a broad set of demographic, social and economic indicators of our country.

Its main aims are:

- To present a broad set of statistical information covering the demographic, social and economic aspects of our country and including methodological descriptions of the numerical data.

- It mainly consists of national data although contributing some regional breakdowns and comparisons with other countries from our economic environment.

- It concentrates on high frequency indicators which appear monthly or quarterly showing their development over recent periods.

- With respect to the economic aspect, to focus on the real sector; in detriment to the financial, already amply covered by other national publications.

- It includes relative information independent of its source of origin, as long as its quality and up to date nature are guaranteed.

- To facilitate its use by means of a coherent thematic organisation and a homogeneous tabular represenation.

- To elaborate each number in a minimal space of time, assuring in this way that the information published is up to date.
