The methodology is based on compliance with the following three progressive phases defined by UNEAEC: Preparation: if at least one account has been prepared in accordance with the SEEA methodology in the last 5 years. Dissemination: preparation and dissemination of at least one account in the last 5 years. Regular production and dissemination: If at least one account is published regularly. These stages are scored as follows: 0- No 1- Preparation 2- Dissemination 3- Regular production and dissemination

Biodiversity is integrated into the national accounting system through two SEEA-compliant satellite accounts included in the National Statistical Plan the Environmental Protection Expenditure Accounts (EPEA, Statistical Operation 30088) and the Environmental Goods and Services Sector Accounts (EGSS, Statistical Operation 30089) which are regularly produced and disseminated (Stage 3). In addition, the development of SEEA Ecosystem Accounts, which further strengthens the integration of biodiversity into environmental-economic accounting, is currently at the preparation stage (Stage 1)
