Definition
It is the value of doubtful bank loans divided between the total value of gross loans. This ratio allows to assess the financial soundness of the institutions, and helps to measure the financial and economic stability of a country.
Calculation method
The value of doubtful bank loans includes the gross value of the loan recorded on the balance sheet, not only the amount due.
