Calculation method
The method of calculating this indicator is based on the responses to a questionnaire of 42 Si/No questions in four areas: Area 1: Global legal framework and public life; Area 2: Violence against women; Area 3: Employment and economic subsidies; Area 4: Marriage and family. These areas are outlined in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the Beijing Platform for Action.
