In order to maintain statistical secrecy, the following has been necessary:
- In those municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants (for greater detail, see the register design), re-encoding the geographical identification of the province and municipality in the following variables: place of residence, place of birth, previous place of residence, place of residence 1 year ago, place of residence 10 years ago, place of second dwelling, place of work/study.
- Adding those persons who work in occupations related to the Armed Forces to other categories.
- Register design and valid variable values (XLS file)

Microdata files: National / Autonomous Communities
Note: In order to enable the download of the persons-households file, in addition to having a single file available with the entire sample, this has been divided into four different files containing information relating to the following Autonomous Communities:
- File 1: Andalucía, Aragón, Principado de Asturias and Illes Balears
- File 2: Canarias, Cantabria, Castilla y León and Castilla - La Mancha
- File 3: Cataluña, Comunitat Valenciana and Extremadura
- File 4: Galicia, Comunidad de Madrid, Región de Murcia, Comunidad Foral de Navarra, País Vasco, La Rioja, Ceuta and Melilla

- Differences between provincial microdata files and national microdata file
- El fichero nacional incluye la ocupación y la actividad a 3 dígitos de la persona, de la persona de referencia, del padre, de la madre y del cónyuge, mientras que los provinciales las incluyen a solo 2 dígitos
- Para salvaguardar el secreto estadístico en los ficheros nacionales ha sido necesario eliminar la identificación geográfica (CPRO,CMUN,NSS y HUECO) y agregar a otras ocupaciones las Fuerzas Armadas
