This statistic is no longer published and has been replaced by population censuses: the Population and Housing Census of 2021, and the Annual Population Census from 2022 onwards. This change is due to the adoption, for the first time, of a methodology based on administrative records in the 2021 Census, which brought about a transformation in the demographic statistics system, as it made it possible to replicate the population census annually. The years 2021 and 2022 are common to both series.
Nevertheless, the population figures that gave rise to these statistics continue to be disseminated -albeit with a very limited level of thematic disaggregation-through the operation Official population Figures of Spanish municipalities: Review of the Municipal Registerl .
