INEbase / Labour market / Activity rate projections

The prediction of the future behaviour of the population in relation to the the labour market provides an extremely valuable information for multiple purposes: assessment of the sustainability of the systems of social protection, establishment of the main lines of future economic development and policies related to the labour market and employee training, etc.

The Activity rate projections are elaborated using information from the Economically Active Population Survey (EAPS) and the Long-term projections of the population. Data on quaterly activity rate series estimated by the Economically Active Population Survey over the population aged 16 and over, by Autonomous Community, sex, and five-year age group serves as the basis for this study. Currently, the information available is calculated with the population base 2001.
