April 2025. Provisional data. The number of mercantile companies increased by 0.3% in April compared to the same month in 2024. The number of dissolved companies decreased by 10.5% year-on-year.
First Quarter 2025. Provisional data. The cost per hour worked increased by 3.6% in the annual rate in the series adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects, and 1.8% in the original series. The activity that recorded the greatest increase in the annual rate in adjusted data was Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (9.7%).
First Quarter 2025. Provisional data. The annual rate of the index for inventory levels of goods in the Trade sector stood at 1.1% in the first quarter. Within the quarter, the month of March recorded the highest annual growth rate, with 1.7%.
First Quarter 2025. The annual variation rate of the Housing Price Index stood at 12.2%. The annual variation rate of new houses was 12.2%, while the rate for used houses was 12.3%. Housing prices rose by 3.5% compared with the previous quarter.
Greenhouse gas emissions per inhabitant decreased by 6.6% in Spain in 2023. They have fallen 34.3% since 2008. In 2023, the economy reduced the use of materials per unit of GDP by 5.8%. It had fallen 53.6% since in 2008, compared to the European average of 28.4%.
Year 2024. In 2024, the number of foreign residents who acquired Spanish nationality increased by 5.1% to 252,476. The most frequent nationalities of origin were Morocco (42,910), Venezuela (30,403) and Colombia (26,224).
