The INE awards the National Statistics Award to María Dolores Ugarte Martínez. The award winner is a professor of Statistics and Operational Research at the Public University of Navarre and coordinator of the "Spatial Statistics" group.

A new edition of Spain in Figures is published once again. This flagship publication provides a concise and up-to-date snapshot of the country¿s key economic, environmental, social, and demographic features.

Consumer Price Index (CPI)
August 2026. The annual variation rate of the August CPI stood at 4.3%, seven tenths of a percentage point higher than that recorded in July. The annual rate of core inflation decreased by one tenth to 2.9%. The monthly variation of the general rate was 0.7%.
Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP)
August 2026. The annual rate of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) stood at 4.6%, seven tenths of a percentage point higher than the previous month.
Services Sector Production Index (SSPI). Base 2021
Second Quarter 2026. Provisional data. The annual variation of the Services Sector Price Index increased three tenths in the first quarter of 2026, to 2.9%. The quarterly rate of services prices was 3.2%.
Reference Index of Housing Rentals
August 2026. The annual rate of the IRAV corresponding to the month of August is 2.47%.
Non-hotel Tourist Accommodation Occupancy Survey
Year 2025. The final data 2025 has been released.
Construction Production Index (COPI)
July 2026. Provisional data. The annual rate of the Construction Production Index stands at -13.0% in the seasonal and calendar-adjusted series and -9.8% in the original. The monthly variation of the COPI stood at -0.3%, after seasonal and calendar adjustment.
